What a marketplace commission costs you in a year, how much of it goes on guests who already knew you, and what taking those bookings directly would cost instead.

$225 per guest · $2,700 per retreat, on $54,000 of bookings.
Of that, commission on guests who would have booked with you anyway

How much commission do retreat marketplaces charge?
It varies by platform. As of October 2026, BookRetreats' standard commission is 15% of the booking (hosts can choose 20–30% for a ranking boost) and Retreat Guru's marketplace takes 14%. Check each marketplace's current terms.
Is a marketplace commission worth paying?
For guests you would not have found yourself, often yes: you pay only when someone books. For guests who already follow you, it is money you didn't need to spend. The calculator separates the two.
Can I use a marketplace and my own booking page?
Many organizers do: a marketplace for discovery, their own page for students and mailing-list subscribers. Read each marketplace's terms on pricing and off-platform bookings first.
